'Chitra' Mani Darpan: From Wall Clocks to Laughing Buddhas – The Gift Business: Who doesn’t appreciate tributes, memorials, or gifts? The gesture is meaningful when the recipient understands the giver’s intention. Otherwise, one might feel it would have been better to receive money instead of a gift. But what should one do with ten Mysore turbans, five or six sandalwood necklaces, four wall clocks, or twenty wall paintings received at a housewarming, wedding, or other event? And what about bouquets that wither in just a day? If monetary gifts were given instead, the amount expected by the recipient might not always align with the giver’s budget. This is precisely why the gift business thrives. A well-chosen gift—one that showcases craftsmanship, environmental consciousness, and creativity—brings joy to all. There is a growing demand for such thoughtful gifts. However, customers can be price-sensitive, given the high volume of invitations and the tendency to re-gift items at events. For business promotions, some prefer using gift coupons, allowing recipients to choose what they truly want. Meanwhile, the greeting card industry has seen a decline, impacted by technological advancements and changing consumer preferences. Interestingly, there is a popular belief that a Laughing Buddha should not be bought but should instead be received as a gift. Even in this belief, a business pattern emerges. ‘Chitra’ Mani Darpan:: Marriage, Children are essential for the economic development of the country!: Our country's economy, future, and youth are at stake. However, in recent times, young men and women are reluctant to get married. Even if they do agree to marry, they hesitate to have children. How has this created financial anxiety? 1. In the world, India is primarily identified by its population. There is no better market than India for foreign companies to sell their products, making our country's population a boon. 2. Earlier, India's overpopulation was a matter of concern. For the same reason, the family planning policy was implemented in 1952, and awareness was spread with the slogan "We two, ours two." Meanwhile, leaders in some states are now encouraging people to have more children. If the birth rate declines, the country will be filled with elderly people, slowing down development. 3. China, which implemented the one-child policy, is now regretting it. Due to the postponement of marriage among young men and women, the number of elderly people has increased. In Japan, the elderly population is already high, and this trend is spreading worldwide. 4. The DINK (Double Income, No Kids) lifestyle is gaining popularity. Young people are losing interest in marriage due to work pressure, career aspirations, and financial burdens. Many feel they have no time to take on responsibilities in today's fast-paced world. With the rise of live-in relationships, marriage itself is being questioned. Even those who marry often choose to have only one child. Many countries are facing similar issues. Is our country heading in the same direction? 5. There is a fundamental difference between humans and other animals. Women experience menopause between the ages of 48 and 55, after which they lose the ability to conceive. Unlike other species, lifelong regeneration is impossible for humans. Our country does not have a system for providing free quality education to children, healthcare, or financial security after retirement. Millions of rupees are spent on LKG and UKG due to the dominance of private schools. This makes young men and women hesitant about marriage and having children. A small family may be ideal for financial management, but from a national perspective...?. Cartoon-Script: Vasantha Hosabettu

'Chitra' Mani Darpan: Selective Absorption in the Financial Arena!: Many people have their own way of understanding things. This is called "selective absorption." It means perceiving only what is pleasant or convenient. The financial world is no exception, as selective absorption is common here too. Consider these examples: • Those who say, "Invest in mutual funds and earn more," often downplay market risks. • "There is unlimited profit in the stock market. The only loss happens if it is misunderstood." But remember, one person's loss is another's gain. • Futures and options may seem more profitable than equity in the stock market. But beware—97% of investors' money ends up in the hands of just 3% of people. Investing without proper knowledge is a significant risk. • News Flash: "Big loss for Reliance in the stock market!" If you're anti-Reliance, don’t rejoice too soon. Remember, all money transactions happen in the secondary market. The company itself does not suffer an immediate loss. • Saving money is important, but that alone is not enough—it must be invested wisely. A final word: Everything I have shared here is for educational purposes only. Always consult an expert before making financial decisions. Cartoon- Script: Vasantha Hosabettu.

'Chitra' Mani Darpan: You pay more premium amount for health insurance, because….: Health insurance companies keep an eye on the health of their customers and try to get more money from the customers. The reasons and excuses that companies give for expensive premiums are the same 1. Certain benefits are available to you only with higher amounts of health insurance. … the premium will be higher! So 2. Privilege of a better room in the hospital based on the insurance taken. So... 3. We provide health insurance for one crore, two crore rupees (that much claim per person in a year is rarest).So... 4. Now medical inflation is high. Therefore 5. Now you can add your father-in-law, mother-in-law to your family scope, so 6. You now add five years of premium together, you get a discount. So... 7. We have added more benefits to the new policy. So.... 8. Some benefits are in different products. Buy another product too….So…. As such, the health insurance segment is considered a 'beading industry'. There are many reasons for that. Our life span has increased, but health span has decreased. Due to environmental pollution, change in lifestyle and other reasons, people's health span has also declined. 'Chitra' Mani Darpan:: Our brain is full of passwords!: If your child is fed dosa today, he should be fed idly tomorrow. Need a new kind of food every day. "I'll give you something... you eat," the child turns his nose. "Today I have made chitranna....must eat," means, the child insists on not eating . If it is forced into the mouth, everything will spit it out. How difficult it is to feed a child, how many kinds of food and snacks are tied for the child to eat, now setting a password is a big task! That too should change after three months or six months. 12345, 123, Aa123456, 1234567890, 123123, 111111, Password & passwords are of no use now. Chances of getting rejected are high. The password should be strong....it should have a special character, number, spelling should be wrong....there are many suggestions. We do something and prepare the password and feel relieved that it is done. Sometimes you can't remember that password! Now your mobile, laptop, bank apps (separate TPIN, MPIN PINs here), UPI payment, dozens of cards. Everything needs a 'password'. The password given to one cannot be given to the other. It is difficult to feed one child, how to feed several children? Creative password creation and difficult to remember is great. So, if our brain is open, there will be piles of password s and pin numbers inside! "I do so much useful work/service for yo.so why are you lazy to give me a special password?" this machine world is asking! Whoops!! Satirical Film-Writing: Vasantha Hosabettu.

'Chitra' Mani Darpan: Privacy is very expensive now! : Devotee Kanakadasa humbly said to the Guru that day, "As you said, I cannot eat this banana in a place where no one is present, avoiding the eyes of everyone....I see God everywhere. You know this. Now if you were an atheist, if you were given the same challenge, what would you do? What would your answer be?" Now there are eyes of CCTV cameras everywhere. There is a system that observes and analyzes your movements and tastes. A social network that shows your presence to the world, the science of artificial intelligence, a satellite above, a mobile attached to you, which records your movements, words... just two? If you have a Gmail account, Google has records of what you have done and where you have been. When you download many apps, they ask for certain permissions. I don't know if there is a requirement, if the permission is not given, the app will not be downloaded. On the road, CC TVs keep a close watch, spot your driving mistakes and take photos and record them. In this way, the police and the court also benefited by giving evidence easily. "We are innocent. Use your technology to see anything you want.... Study me anywhere, any way. Spend money and time on this and you will spoil yourself..."? But ask one thing. Using AI Deep Technology, you can make a video as you speak! You can record unspoken words as spoken! Are you still at peace after hearing all this? Congratulations. 'Chitra' Mani Darpan: What is the Power of Compounding Magic?: Practically you learn a new thing this week, the importance of finances. Scan the QR code given above with the help of scanner on your mobile. You can watch the full video on YouTube. Now take Vika Money or any newspaper in front of you. How many times can you fold it? Six, seven, eight times? Yes, you can only fold a newspaper eight times. You must have realized that the size and thickness of 'Vika Money' should be increased if you fold it more times than that. Now coming to the point thus folding can be compared to 'power of compounding'. A great weapon for growing money in personal finance is the power of compounding. Imagine the principal amount I am getting interest in while unfolding the paper and imagine the money growing as it folds. As folding experience increases, you will come to know the power of compounding. If the same formula is applied to investment, compounding increase, more money will be yours. You are given not only the QR code but also the YouTube video link. Using the link, effectively understand the power of compounding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmFMJC45f1Q&t=199s. :Satirical Film-Writing: Vasantha Hosabettu

Why should we thank the traffic police?: There are 'life' and 'non-life' categories in insurance. Auto insurance comes under the 'non-life' category. There is a misconception about the role of the police here. After all, did you notice their work of checking vehicles? 1. Police stop vehicles and check only 'third party' insurances. When our vehicle collides with another vehicle, the first party insurance is to repair their vehicle and treat the injured due to our fault. It is mandatory in our country. 2. The police will also check on priority whether all the two wheeler riders and rear riders are wearing helmet or not. The police are more concerned about our heads and our lives. The police will protect our family. It is true that we are saddened by the imposition of fines, but there is no personal gain or loss for the police by imposing or not imposing fines 3. Another - Police will also check if you have a PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate. They will check whether the amount of pollution your vehicle causes to the environment is within the prescribed amount or more. It is more important than all degree certificates. It is also questionable if you give the PUC certificate in plastic cover to the police. Now the police can get information about violation of rules through our vehicle registration number. It is on this based on the technology updated Even without insurance, Helmet, PUC certificate, sometimes one can move around avoiding the eyes of the police. However, if these documents are not present at the time of insurance settlement, the insurance benefits will not be available. There is a condition that if the law of the land is not followed then the insurance benefit cannot be availed. So, traffic police are our guardians. Be grateful to them. :Satirical Film-Writing: Vasantha Hosabettu

When will the 'life certificate' end? Can Aadhaar be used? : If you get a pension, you must prove 'you're alive' to keep going! If proof of existence is not provided, the pension will stop. When you give a proof, it goes on. Actually pension is not some other special contribution, pension is given at the old age from the monthly salary savings of the employees. In such a situation, is it right to stop the pension without even giving a reminder/notification? Also, pension income is taxable! Are these measures humane? Recently through 'Jeevan Praman' app you can submit 'Jeevan Praman Patra' based on Aadhaar. This eliminates the hassle of visiting the bank in person. But, in this age of 'WhatsApp University' fraud, how do senior citizens get the courage to use or acquire such a digital system? The pension giving organization says that there is a need for this 'life certificate' because 'some people get pension even after they have passed away'. If Aadhaar is made mandatory for 'death certificate' in case of death of a pensioner, the problem will end. That is, the concerned bank can "freeze the account" as soon as the information about the death of the pensioner is received. Then, the annoyance of life certificates will be avoided. If the judiciary, the executive and the legislature work together in this regard, the use of the Aadhaar card will also come to fruition. Peace of mind for the senior lives. 'Chitra' Mani Darpan:: Things must be used, persons must be loved!:: “There was much excitement when the ghouls came to our small house. We went from a small house to a big house by pouring money and taking loans so that it would be convenient for those who came. The surprising thing is that now no gnats are coming to our house!'' - this is the experience of a Bangalorean. In fact, every time, these people in the small house used to come home with the feeling that they were in a difficult situation. Theirs is the way to find happiness by coming to the small house. He treated 'big people' to his house with love. That means a person's happiness is based on the 'no's' in the other! Many feel that if we buy expensive things, people will recognize us as rich people. That is why they buy many unnecessary things. People who compare the accumulation/purchase of things in relative terms, judge themselves as rich or poor. Thus they become poor by buying unnecessary things and delude themselves that they are rich in the eyes of others. Even if we have everything, the wealth that another has over us is blinding. Such mindsets have been nurturing the 'consumer culture'. There is no end to this. Because all our happiness is based on someone else! Our elders said to that - "Materials should be used. People should be loved. Do not use individuals. objects Not to be loved. Satirical film-Written by: Vasantha Hosabettu

Why pension in our money only for politicians?: “Now you have money... but what about your retirement life?” It arises from the question, "Where will the money come from?" Same with financial planning. But, in the meantime, politicians who have no retirement are getting guaranteed retirement pay - pension through our money! The biggest fear of all of us is retirement. Amid increased life expectancy, stagnant earning phase, and rising inflation, the very idea is dire. All new Agniveer schemes have come in NPS, Army from Old Pension for Govt employees. You also know that all these are designed to make it impossible to provide pensions in the increased life expectancy. Now only about 4% of people are getting pension in our country. Among these politicians MP, Rajya Sabha members, our MLAs, MLCs are given many facilities after retirement including monthly pension, travel expenses, medical expenses. Surprisingly, none of the beneficiary politicians were embarrassed or deprived of these privileges. We have not given up such a pension which is not available to the majority. Have you heard of any party; any politician talks about this...? Are the politicians who requested to drop the gas subsidy ready to drop the pension that their citizens do not have? Do you think about someone else's pension scheme after you have a guaranteed retirement pension? Think about it. Satirical Film-Writing: Vasantha Hosabettu
