Special Achievement:
Vasantha Hosabettu received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the World Records University UK for his "Longest Running Cartoon Column in Newspaper." The ceremony took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on February 22, 2014.
Record Holding:
Vasantha is a world record holder for the Longest Running Cartoon Column, as recognized by Unique World Records and World Records University. His records are recognised at various levels by various record keeping agencies like Limca Book of Records, World Records India Asia Book of Records, to name few. His column, "Wa Re Wah...!" in Kannada Prabha Newspaper, has been consistent every Wednesday between December 1, 2004 and February 11 2009. Written Books:
Vasantha has authored three books- "Ware Wah…!" in 2022, a collection of all "Wa Re Wah’s," "Munduvarida Vare Vah…!" in 2009, a compilation of 101 columns after the first "Vare Vah…!," and "Vare Vah…I" in 2007, a collection of 101 columns.
International Cartooning Prize:
Vasantha has received international recognition for his cartoons.H M Prize in the 10th Sejong International Cartoon Contest-2019, South Korea which was held under the theme of ‘Unfact & Win win” to build the new world. SP prize in SICACO 2020 international cartoon contest of South Korea. It was held at the theme ‘Freedom + Equality’. H M Prize in the 8th Sejong International Cartoon Contest-2019, South Korea which was held under the theme of ‘Hot Passion & Cold Heart” to build the new world. 5th prize in the Second Taejon International Cartoon Contest- 1993, South Korea.
National Cartooning Prize:
His achievements also include receiving the 3rd prize in the Open Cartoon Contest-1992 conducted by the Bhilai Steel Plant of Madhya Pradesh.
Participated in International Cartoon Exhibitions of more than 20 countries:
He has contributed to international cartoon exhibitions in Japan, Brazil, Italy, Iran, Belgium, Turkey, and many more countries, showcasing his work on diverse global platforms.
Special Participation:
Participated in person in 31stSalon International Caricature dessin presse & humour, held in Saint-Just-Le-Martel, Haute- Vienne-Limousin, France as a host. It had held between September 29th September and Oct 7 of 2012.During this period given training to French students. This was said to be first time done by an Indian cartoonist.
As a Columnist:
Vasantha has a history as a columnist. He wrote a weekly cartoon-related column, "Wa Re Wah…!" for Kannada Prabha Kannada Daily between December 1, 2004, and February 11, 2009. Additionally, he authored a weekly management/business cartoon column for Vijay Karnataka, Kannada Daily, from March 8, 2000, to April 30, 2003.

Visited Puerto Rico - USA (for a month), New York, and Frankfurt - Germany. Also stayed in France, Vietnam, Oman- UAE Gulf countries, Malaysia for ten, four, eleven, and four days respectively. Published articles about each foreign country visit in various publications.
